What Is Eyes Back?

Eyes Back is a personal safety and situational awareness app designed to help individuals document real-world encounters clearly, privately, and on their own terms.

The app allows users to record observations, attach photos, and automatically capture contextual details (such as time, general location, and weather conditions) in a structured way — without broadcasting, social feeds, or public sharing.

Eyes Back is built for clarity, not confrontation.

Privacy & Data Philosophy (Important)

Eyes Back was built with a privacy-first mindset.

What the app DOES:

  • Stores user-created entries locally on the device

  • Uses location data only at the moment an entry is created

  • Associates entries with time, approximate location, and weather

  • Allows users to export or reference their own records

What the app DOES NOT do:

  • ❌ No social sharing

  • ❌ No public feeds

  • ❌ No live location tracking

  • ❌ No selling or monetizing user data

  • ❌ No behavioral profiling

  • ❌ No third-party advertising SDKs

Eyes Back does not monitor users in the background.

Location & Geolocation Use

  • Location access is requested only when creating a new entry

  • Location data is used to:

    • Associate an entry with where it occurred

    • Provide contextual accuracy (not tracking)

  • Location is not continuously tracked

  • Users can disable location permissions at any time

Data Ownership & Control

  • Your entries remain your property

  • Data is stored on your device unless you choose otherwise

  • There is no central database of user activity

  • Deleting the app deletes local data

Intended Use & Limitations

Eyes Back is designed as a personal documentation and awareness tool.

It is not:

  • A law enforcement reporting system

  • A substitute for emergency services

  • A surveillance or monitoring platform
